Safety and dignity

Safeguarding concerns

CACED takes concerns about harm, abuse, exploitation or unsafe conduct seriously. Share only what is necessary, and do not post names, identifying details, images or allegations in public channels.

If someone may be in immediate danger

This website is not monitored as an emergency service. Move to a safer place if possible and contact the appropriate local emergency service, child-protection authority, health service or other competent public authority. Do not wait for a website response.

How to reach CACED safely

A dedicated restricted safeguarding submission channel is not yet available on this website. For a non-emergency concern, you may use the Contact page only to ask for a safe way to speak with CACED. Choose “Other”; do not include a person’s name, case details or allegation in that message. If it is not safe for CACED to reply using your contact details, do not provide them.

Confidentiality and referrals

Information should be handled discreetly and shared only with people who need it to respond. Confidentiality cannot be promised where sharing is necessary to protect someone or involve an appropriate authority. Depending on the concern, a qualified or legally responsible service may be better placed to help. CACED does not publish safeguarding case information here.

Our principles

  • Prioritise safety, dignity and the well-being of children and vulnerable people.
  • Listen respectfully, avoid blame and do not retaliate against a person who raises a concern.
  • Minimise identifying information and avoid public investigation or speculation.
  • Refer to an appropriate qualified authority when the concern requires expertise or protection beyond CACED’s role.

For a non-safeguarding service or conduct complaint, use the complaints page. Do not use that form to submit safeguarding case details.
